Who is responsible for your data

MowSeason is published by MLJ, SASU, a company registered in Paris under SIREN 934 769 837. MLJ, SASU acts as the data controller for the information collected through this website. The publication director and the person who actually reads what arrives is Jimenez Julien. You can reach him directly at jimenezjulien42@gmail.com. What this site collects, exactly

This website has one point of collection: the contact form on the home page. Nothing else on the site asks you for information, and there is no account creation, no newsletter signup and no comment area. When you submit the form, the following named fields are transmitted and stored:

• name, your full name, so that a reply can address you properly.
• email, your work email address, which is where the answer is sent.
• company, the name of your lawn care or landscaping business.
• role, your role in that business, chosen from a short list.
• request, what you are asking for: a demo, early access or a quote.
• size, the number of crews you dispatch, chosen from a short list.
• message, the free text you write about what breaks in your season.
• consent, the record that you ticked the consent box before sending.

Three hidden technical fields travel with the submission: form-name, which tells the form service which form was used, subject, a fixed line identifying the site, and recipient, the address the notification is sent to. A fourth hidden field named bot-field exists only to catch automated spam. It is invisible to people and must stay empty; if it is completed, the submission is discarded.

Your web browser also transmits an IP address and a user agent string when it requests a page or submits a form. These are handled by our hosting provider as part of normal server operation and are used for security and abuse prevention, not for profiling.

Why we process it, and on what legal basis

Information from the contact form is processed for one purpose: to answer your request and, if you want, to arrange and run a demonstration of MowSeason. We do not use it to build advertising audiences, we do not enrich it with data bought from brokers, and we do not send unsolicited marketing sequences off the back of it.

Where the European General Data Protection Regulation applies, the legal basis is your consent, given by ticking the consent box, together with our legitimate interest in responding to a commercial enquiry addressed to us and in taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. Where United States state privacy laws apply, the processing is limited to the purpose you submitted the form for, which is a purpose you would reasonably expect.

Who processes and stores submissions

This site is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States. Form submissions are received, processed and stored by Netlify Forms on our behalf, acting as a processor under our instructions, and a notification copy is delivered to the email address of the publication director. Netlify applies its own security and confidentiality commitments to that data.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers. We do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it for automated decision making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. The only additional recipients are ordinary business tools used to reply to you, such as our email provider.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no advertising cookie, no third party analytics cookie and no social network tracking pixel. There is no Google Analytics tag, no advertising remarketing tag and no session recording script on any page. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests the font files from that service and your IP address is visible to it during that request. Everything else that this site loads, including the stylesheet, the JavaScript file, the icon set and the photographs, is served from our own domain.

How long we keep things

Contact form submissions are kept for twenty four months from the date of the last exchange with you, and then deleted. If your enquiry turns into a customer relationship, the related correspondence is kept for the duration of that relationship and then for the retention period required by French commercial and accounting law. Server access logs held by the hosting provider are retained for a short technical period in line with that provider's own policy. If you ask us to erase your submission earlier, we do it, subject only to records we are legally required to keep.

Your rights in the United States

If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah or Virginia, you have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you and the categories of sources it came from, the right to obtain a copy of it in a portable form, the right to have it corrected when it is inaccurate, and the right to have it deleted. You may also opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising, although as stated above we do none of those things. California residents have the additional right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of these rights, and may use an authorized agent to make a request on their behalf.

To exercise any of these rights, write to jimenezjulien42@gmail.com from the address you used on the form, or tell us enough for us to locate your record. We answer within forty five days and will tell you if we need an extension. If we deny a request, we will explain why and how you can appeal, and appeals are reviewed by the publication director.

Your rights in the European Union and United Kingdom

If you are in the European Economic Area, Switzerland or the United Kingdom, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability and objection, and you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. Requests go to the same address. If you believe your data has been handled improperly, you may lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority, which in France is the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertes.

International transfers

MLJ, SASU is established in France and our hosting provider is established in the United States, so information you send through this site is transferred to and stored in the United States. Those transfers rely on the European Commission standard contractual clauses concluded with the provider, together with the technical and organizational safeguards the provider applies. You may ask us for information about the safeguards in place at any time.

Children's privacy

MowSeason is a business tool sold to lawn care and landscaping companies. It is not directed at children, and this site is not intended for anyone under sixteen years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information through the contact form, write to us and we will delete it promptly.

Security

Pages and form submissions travel over HTTPS. Access to submissions is limited to the publication director. We apply the security headers listed in our deployment configuration, including strict referrer policy and content type protection, and we review the set of third party services this site depends on before adding any new one. No system is perfect, and if a breach ever affected your data we would notify you and the relevant authority within the legal deadline.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes in a way that affects your rights or the way we handle submissions, we update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, we tell customers by email before the change takes effect. Older versions are kept and can be sent to you on request.
